FIST is Tyco’s Fiber Infrastructure System Technology,
originally developed to accommodate standard fiber optic
cables, and now extended with a new range of similar
products to handle modular cables and blown microcables.
The medium-sized boxes FIST-MB2-MC-S and T provide
wall-mountable environmental and mechanical protection
for a FIST fiber management system that includes the
functions of splicing, patching and passive component
integration.
The boxes are typically used on walls inside the
customer’s premises in the termination part of the
access network.
The units have the following features:
• The box itself comprises a base and cover assembly
• The base plate includes the cable entry/exit ports and
a UMS (Universal Mounting System) profile to
accommodate the different types of subassemblies
• Fiber splices can be managed on a single circuit or
single element basis
• A patch panel is incorporated in the termination box.
The –S version is a splicing box, the –T version allows
both splicing and patching. |
